“Scene repulisti” es el segundo larga duración de los Idol Lips, ha visto la luz con el sello White Zoo y lo hemos elegido como disco destacado de hoy en este sótano de Radio 3. Se trata de un buen disco de punk rock’n’roll, con unas cuantas composiciones propias muy destacables y perfectas para ponerte las pilas o quitarte las legañas.

Entre las influencias más obvias que te asaltan según suenan por el reproductor se podría mencionar cierto toque glam a los New York Dolls, pero especialmente, en el punto de mira se encuentran las enseñanzas de los Heartbreakers de Johnny Thunders y los Dead Boys de Stiv Bators; macarrismo, chulería y riffs de guitarra afilados. Uh estilo y una estela que ha sido continuado por innumerables bandas hasta el día de hoy, escuchando este disco uno también puede recordar a los D Generation neoyorquinos o a los electrizantes D4 australianos por citar un nombre más reciente.

“All dahled up” es el título del disco de debut de The Dahlmanns.

Se trata de una nueva banda noruega entregada a los sonidos del punk rock melódico, herederos de esa escuela conocida como ramoniana, por la vertiente más dulzona. El disco salió hace unos meses, a finales de 2011, pero aquí abajo nos hemos hecho con él hace bien poquito. La verdad es que fue el título de la canción “Bailando con Joey Ramone” la que nos hizo probar suerte. Bueno, eso y enterarnos de que en estos Dahlmans militaban integrantes de The Yum Yums, una de las mejores bandas del punk pop y el power pop de los últimos 20 años. De ahí vienen el guitarrista André, el batería Otto o el teclista Pal. El grupo nació liderado por André y la cantante Lina, pareja en la vida real que aquí comparte el apellido ficticio de Dahlmann. Noruega siempre ha sido tierra fértil en sonidos ligados al rock’n’roll y el power pop y the Dahlmanns pretenden continuar la estirpe.

Es la fórmula de siempre; melodías pegadizas en 2 o 3 minutos, guitarras potentes, buenos coros y detalles preciosistas. Con todo ello, este es un disco muy disfrutable que resulta más adictivo a cada nueva vuelta que le das. Cuentan con la bendición de Andy Shernoff, legendario bajista de los Dictators, que en esto de melodías entiende un rato. O de Little Steven, el responsable del programa Underground garage que eligió a los Dahlmanns como responsables de una de las canciones más guays del planeta, “the coolests songs of the World”. Tas un par de EPs, “All dahled up” es el título de su primer álbum, editado por Screaming Appel y disco destacado de hoy en este Sótano de Radio 3.

Wild Evel & the Trashbones presentan "Tales from the cave" (Soundflat).

Wild Evel es el cantante de The Incredible Staggers, banda austriaca convertida en uno de los grupos más notables del garage punk europeo de la última década. Allá por el año 2008 decidió dar forma a este proyecto paralelo aliándose con unos cuantos amiguetes de los Roadrunners. Así nacieron Wild Evel & the Trashbones y comenzaron a recorrer escenarios europeos. Su primera referencia vio la luz con un sello madrileño, un single editado por Hey Girl Records que se convirtió en la primera tarjeta de visita de estos hombres primitivos del siglo XXI.

Desde entonces les seguimos la pista aquí abajo, en el Sótano, esperando que llegase ese primer álbum con el que nos mostraran todas sus cartas: unas cartas que en esta escena son siempre las mismas pero que cada grupo juega a su manera: toneladas de fuzz, fafisa, salvajismo, letras involutivas, zombis y otras referencias tenebrosas. Desde luego, en el reparto para este disco, a Wild Evel le ha salido buena mano.
